Visibility Gap Analysis

The analytical process of identifying which specific prompts, topics or query types a brand underperforms on relative to competitors, used to prioritize where to focus content and optimization effort.

What it draws on

A gap analysis typically combines exclusion-gap data (prompts where a brand should appear but doesn't), competitor-overlap data (who it's actually being compared against), and inclusion versus recommendation rates, to build a picture of where the brand is weakest relative to where it's strongest.

What it produces

Unlike a single metric, the output of a gap analysis is a prioritized list — which prompts or topics to target first, based on how much visibility is at stake and how competitive the gap currently is. That list is usually what turns measurement into an actual content or optimization plan.
