Opportunity Score
A composite score that ranks which prompts or content gaps are worth pursuing first, typically combining query volume or intent, current visibility, and competitor strength.
What feeds into it
A typical formula weighs how high-intent or high-volume a prompt is, how far the brand currently sits from being included or recommended for it, and how entrenched the competitors currently occupying that answer appear to be. Prompts that are high-intent, currently missing the brand, and only weakly held by a competitor score highest.
Why it matters
A gap analysis can surface dozens of underperforming prompts, more than any team can act on at once. An opportunity score turns that list into a ranked order, so effort goes toward the gaps most likely to move the needle rather than the ones simply easiest to find.
A caveat
Because the score is a weighted composite, its usefulness depends entirely on how the weights are set — a formula that overweights volume, for example, can bury a smaller but easier win. It's a prioritization aid, not an objective ranking.
