Inclusion Rate
The percentage of answers to category-relevant prompts — for example "best project management tools" — in which a brand is named among the options listed, regardless of whether it's singled out as the top pick.
How it works
Inclusion rate is scoped to a specific type of prompt: ones where a list or set of options is the expected answer format. It's calculated as the share of those list-style answers that name the brand at all, whether first, last, or buried in the middle.
Relation to recommendation rate
Inclusion rate measures whether a brand makes the consideration set; recommendation rate measures whether it wins within that set. A brand should generally look at both together — a low inclusion rate points to a visibility problem, while a low recommendation rate despite high inclusion points to a positioning or perception problem.
