Structured Data

Machine-readable markup added to a webpage that describes its content in a standardized format, most commonly using schema.org vocabulary.

Why it helps

Structured data removes ambiguity — instead of a crawler inferring that a block of text is a list of FAQs, structured markup states it explicitly, which makes the content easier for both search engines and AI systems to parse and reuse accurately.

Common types

FAQPage, HowTo, Product, Organization and BreadcrumbList are among the most widely used schema types, each describing a different kind of content in a format search and AI systems can read directly.
