Prompt Set
The defined collection of prompts an AI visibility tool runs on a recurring basis to measure a brand's mentions, sentiment and position over time.
What it typically includes
A prompt set usually mixes informational queries, comparison queries, recommendation queries and long-tail variants, so it reflects the different ways real buyers phrase questions rather than a single query type. It's the fixed instrument that every other measurement in this glossary — coverage, frequency, share of voice — is calculated against.
Why its composition matters
Every metric derived from a prompt set is only as representative as the set itself. A prompt set skewed toward queries where a brand already performs well will overstate visibility, which is why prompt sets are usually built from real search and conversation data rather than hand-picked by the brand being measured.
