Copilot Microsoft 365 Integration
Copilot embedded inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, where it works primarily with a user's own documents and organizational data.
What it is
Microsoft 365 Copilot draws on a user's emails, files, and meetings via Microsoft Graph to draft content, summarize threads, or build slides, and it's licensed separately from the consumer Copilot chat app. It can incorporate web results in some scenarios, but its primary grounding is internal organizational content rather than the open web.
Relevance to brand tracking
Like Gemini's Workspace integration, most Microsoft 365 Copilot usage is grounded in private enterprise data rather than public pages, so it isn't a channel where brand mentions are externally observable or trackable. It's worth knowing about mainly to avoid conflating it with the consumer Copilot chat experience, which does browse and cite the open web.
