Structured data that identifies a page as an article and specifies details like its headline, author, publish date and publisher.
Why it matters for attribution
Article schema explicitly states who wrote a piece and when, giving AI systems structured signals for authorship and recency rather than requiring them to infer both from surrounding page text.
Keeping dates honest
The datePublished and dateModified fields should reflect real publication and edit history. Schema that claims a page was recently updated when it wasn't is the kind of mismatch that erodes trust in a source over time.
