AI Overview
Google's AI-generated summary that appears directly above traditional organic results for many search queries.
Where it sits
AI Overviews appear at the top of Google's results page, ahead of the ranked links, synthesizing an answer from multiple sources rather than presenting a single ranked list.
What it means for visibility
A page can rank highly in traditional organic results and still be left out of the AI Overview for the same query — or be summarized without a visible link. Whether a brand is named inside the overview is a separate, additional visibility surface worth tracking on its own.
