Google AI Mode
A more conversational, chat-based search experience inside Google Search, distinct from the standard AI Overview shown above organic results.
How it differs from AI Overviews
AI Mode is a more extensive, back-and-forth conversational experience, while AI Overviews appear as a summary above traditional results for a single query — both are Google AI surfaces, but they behave and get tracked differently.
Why it's tracked separately
A brand can be described differently — or included/excluded differently — between AI Mode and a standard AI Overview for a similar underlying question, which is why each is worth checking on its own.
