Agentic Search
A search process where an AI model autonomously plans and runs multiple queries, evaluates the results, and decides whether to search again — rather than issuing one query and stopping.
How it differs from a single search
A basic search-augmented answer runs one query, reads the results, and responds. Agentic search lets the model break a question into sub-questions, run several searches in sequence, judge whether the results actually answer the question, and search again if they don't.
Why it matters for AI visibility
Because agentic search can involve multiple rounds of querying and evaluation, appearing for the obvious first query isn't enough to guarantee a mention in the final answer — a page also has to hold up when the model cross-checks it against other sources or follow-up searches. This makes consistency and accuracy across a brand's content more important than optimizing for a single query alone.
