Zero-Click Behavior
The pattern of a user getting a complete answer from an AI platform and never clicking through to a website, even when the brand was named favorably.
Why it matters
A recommendation inside an AI answer can fully satisfy the user's question — they now know what to buy — without ever generating a website visit, a click, or any conventional web analytics event. That means a brand's AI visibility can be doing real commercial work that standard traffic and conversion reporting shows none of.
How it's measured indirectly
Since zero-click behavior produces no direct event by definition, it's typically inferred by comparing AI visibility metrics against downstream signals that don't require a click — direct traffic growth, branded search volume, or self-reported "how did you hear about us" data — rather than measured as a single reportable number.
