Multi-Turn Memory
An AI platform's ability to retain and reuse information from earlier in a conversation — or across separate sessions — when generating later responses.
How it works
Within a single conversation, prior turns typically stay in the context window and directly inform later answers. Some platforms go further and retain facts across sessions — remembering a user's stated preferences or past questions the next time they open a chat.
Why it matters for AI visibility
If a brand is mentioned or dismissed early in a conversation, that framing can carry forward into every later answer in the same session, since the model treats its own prior output as established context. That makes the first mention in a multi-turn exchange disproportionately influential compared to a single, isolated query.
