Internal Linking for Crawlers
The practice of linking between a site's own pages in a way that helps crawlers discover content and understand how pages relate to each other.
Why orphan pages are a problem
A page with no internal links pointing to it can be difficult for a crawler to find at all, regardless of how well the page itself is written. Internal links are often the only path a crawler has to reach it.
What good linking signals
Links that use descriptive, relevant anchor text — rather than generic "click here" links — help a crawler understand what the linked page is about before it even visits it.
