Crawlability
How easily an automated crawler can access, navigate and read the pages of a website.
What affects it
Robots.txt rules, broken internal links, JavaScript-rendered content that never loads for a simple crawler, and slow page loads can all limit crawlability, regardless of how good the underlying content is.
Why it's a prerequisite, not a ranking factor
Content a crawler can't reach or read can't be cited at all. Crawlability isn't about being favored over other content — it's the baseline requirement for being considered in the first place.
