Claude Web Search
Anthropic's feature that lets Claude run live web searches and cite sources in its answers instead of relying solely on training data.
How it works
When enabled, Claude issues search queries, retrieves results, and can quote or link specific pages inline, with citations attached to the claims they support. It's a per-conversation or account-level capability rather than something that runs on every single query.
Why it matters for visibility
Because Claude explicitly attaches citations to search-grounded claims, tracking which domains get cited in Claude Web Search answers is a direct, measurable signal of AI visibility. Getting cited depends on the same fundamentals as other engines — accessible pages and clear factual content — plus not being blocked from the crawler that indexes pages for Claude's search feature.
