Answer Length
The length of a generated AI response, typically measured in words or tokens, used to normalize other visibility metrics against how much room an answer had to mention any brand at all.
Why it matters as a normalizing factor
A short, three-sentence answer that names one brand and a long, multi-paragraph answer that names one brand out of ten aren't equivalent outcomes, even though both are single mentions. Tracking answer length alongside mention counts and share of answer keeps a team from over- or under-reading a result that's really just a function of how much the model chose to write.
