Large Language Model (LLM)
The type of AI model — trained on large amounts of text — that powers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and similar assistants.
What it does
An LLM predicts and generates text by drawing on patterns learned from its training data. That's the underlying technology behind chat assistants, AI search summaries and most of what "AI visibility" is actually tracking the output of.
Why brands care
What an LLM "knows" about a brand — and how confidently and accurately it describes it — depends on how that brand appears across the training data and any sources the model retrieves at answer time.
